Little green Blog Post 7

So I have finished my book and to be honest I was kind of disappointed. Not that it's a bad book but I though it was going to be a book about war but instead talks about the life of a small girl growing up during the Chinese Cultural Revaluation and explaining the hardships. But its still good but not my kind of taste.

I would recommend this book to any one who likes historical fiction. I say this because the Chinese Cultural Revaluation was a real thing, and I do recommend this book to anyone who likes that genre because its written in first person and it's also kind of an auto biography because the person who wrote this went through it when it was happening. So yea that is why i would recommend this book to any one who falls into that category.

Litte green Blog post 6

Conflict
The conflict in the book would have to be man vs society because little green has to fight the Chinese Cultural Revaluation. This is a conflict for her because all her life she has only known the life during the Chinese Cultural Revaluation, but her getting used to this life doesn't mean its easier for her. That makes it more of a conflict because she never knew her dad because he was sent to a labor camp when she was very young.

Character analyses

Little Green- Little green is persevering. I say this because throughout the book there is many obstacles that she has to overcome and she gets through them and especially in this time which is even harder due to the Chinese Cultural Revaluation. Like one of the times when her mom would have to work all day and and first she was left with total strangers because she had just moved there and didn't know anyone. But she got through this and adapted to a whole new environment.

Little Green: Blog post five

I have started a new book and it is called Little Green: Growing up during the Chines cultural revolution.  The reason I like this book because China is one of my favorite countries to learn about because for one it is one of the longest lasting civilizations that was like an empire, and second its kind of a weird reason to choose why but I have this video game that takes place in future China so I wanted to learn about the history too through someone's eyes. So I am liking it so far.

Summary
My book is about a girl named Little green. She was born right at the start of the Chinese cultural revolution so this is basically the only life that she has known. When she was young her dad was sent to a work camp because their country's leader said that their country was built on labor and prosperity. Then Her mom was moved into the country to teach schools their. There her and her younger brother live there along with twelve other families. Their grandma has come to help take care of them.I left off when Little green is awoken to her mom getting up at midnight and marching through town as part of the Chinese cultural revolution.

I hunt Killers Blog Post 4

So I had just finished the book and I really liked it. It was really good. The beginning also started really good because it was like one of those movies that show something important in the beginning but you don't know that that was important later in the movie so then your all like Ahhhhhh, that was what that was. In the book I actually had favorite character in the book and that is actually very rare because I rarely get this into a book but this one I really liked. I liked the Grandma because she is actually pretty funny because on the surface she seems like a little sweet old lady with slight mental issues. But when she feels like it she could be the worst person and push Jazz to the breaking point.

Recommendations
I would recommend this book to anyone who like gory adventure/mystery and thriller books. this book is kind of like a mystery because since there is a new serial killer in town no one know who it is. They call him "The imperfections" because of the message he left in Jazz's room. This is also a thriller and adventure because the people of the town are starting to blame Jazz, so he has to find this killer before anything else happens. He also solves a few deaths along the way, no biggie. There many twist and turn and I don't want to say too much so you see for yourself. This book is also very similar to one of my favorite shows which is Dexter because they both hunt killers except dexter hunts and kill them and Jazz just bring them to the cops. A major similarity though is that both their dads taught them how to be killers and get away, theres a difference there to because Jazz was taught how too kill anyone and how to get away with it. Dexter was taught how to hunt down killers and find the and kill them, so in a way Jazz was taught to use his powers for good and Dexter was taught how to use his powers for good. But over all the book is really good, you won't  want to put it down at some points just so you could find out what happens. So yea I really recommend you pick this book up ad try it out if you think you fall into any of those categories I mentioned in the begging.

II hunt killers Blog post 3

Conflict
One of the main conflicts on the book would have to be man vs self. If u actually look a little closer you could clearly see the conflict that Jazz is having with himself. He keeps saying that he is going to end up like a serial killer and that he doesn't want to kill anybody, but from the start you could tell that he is a good person and that he wasn't going too be like that because he would help cops solve murders especially G. William's whom he was very close with because he was the one that found Jazz when they had arrested his father. He was also a good person because he cared and loved his grandma even though she would get him at times, and he also cared deeply about his girlfriend connie because since Jazz was a pretty dark person and kept to himself, Connie was the only person that he would open up to (and his friend Howie.)So overall he was a good person with a few flaws here and there, but he was so afraid that he is going to be like his father and kill people even though deep down he knows he's not and is just afraid of his past. A good way to see this is like a skinny girl keep on saying that she is fat.

Character analysis
Connie  Hall- She is very nice but the most noticeable traits for her are that she is kind, loving and mostly supportive.I say she is kind because whenever she goes over to Jazz's house i could tell she is very polite because of how nice she is to the grandma even though she knows how she could be mean to Jasper and get him super angry. She is kind and loving because of the way that she is so affectionate towards Jazz and because in the book every time they meet they greet each other with kisses and Jazz says that she is one of the only people in his life that he really cares about. She is also very supportive towards Jazz too. The reason that I say this is because Jazz is  going through really tough times right now because there is a new serial killer in town and people are starting to think that Jazz is starting to take after his father and kill people. Connie is helping him through this because she is like one of the only people that Jazz could talk to and she is constantly visiting him and going out and talking.

I hunt Killers Blog Post 2

Character Analysis
Grandma- Jazz's Grandma is kinda out of cause of her age she getting old and since Jazz can't really live alone yet his grandma had moved in with him. So in a way they need each other because Jazz can't live on his own yet and Grandma needs to be taken care of too because of her age and mental state. But going back on topic she's your usual sweet old lady, sometimes. I say this cause when she's a sweet old lady she's usually somewhere else not physicality but mentally. I say that because in the book cops came to Jazzes aid and Jazz said that she there physically but not mentally because she was in some kind of 50's dance and she even danced with a cop. She also is quit cruel to because Jazz said that its hard to forget how cruel she is even though she mostly acts childish and lost. She knows how to push his buttons and she does and Jazz gets real mad and in the story it even said that he would spend a chunk of the day thinking on how to kill her.

Summery
So far in the book Jazz is on his way home a crime scene that is by a new serial killer in town. So far he has gotten 3 victims including a former classmate of jazz. When they leave he explains about how he is done trying to help the police because G. Williams said that he needs to stop worrying about these things and focus on school. So when Jazz gets home  its already 4 am he freaks out a little because he forgot his grandma was on the couch but then relaxes because she is ok. When he goes into his room he actually freaks out because on his wall in blood is written a massage saying that the person who wrote it, the "Imperfectionest" will never be as good as Jazz's father but he will rain terror. He calls the cops and they come over but don't find any evidence. When they leave they leave one squad car behind to take care of the house. The next day he doesn't go to school.

Native American: Will we be killed and Life on the Rez Blog

American Indians are a perfect example for marginalized groups because they were literally pushed aside and marginalize. The reason that was because they were literally pushed aside and marginalize because they were put into reservations, but in this article it talks about how the children were taken from there homes and tried to be brain washed into being American. I know that because Captain Prat said that he wanted to kill the indian and save the human inside. This is also a way that Indians could have been made to feel as if they didn't exist, because evan Prat said " kill the Indian". So that must have made them feel as if they didn't exist.

The purpose of Shanice Writing this essay to educate people of how the life on the rez is. I know this because in the article she talks about when she tells people that she lives on a rez that they automatically think that she lives in a teepee and wears feathers and common indian stereo types. So she wanted to teach us that this is incorrect. She said that she was like a normal teen age girl and like to watch mtv and did normal thing, but it's just that she has different customs and traditions that are different from other people and Native American culture is among the smallest know about so that is also why people think that these stereo types are true.

Tolerance

Tolrance-the ability or willingness
to allow the existence, occurrence, or practice of something,in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with.

A way that I can be more tolerant is by not saying anything that comes to mind when I hear a certain race or religion. An experience I had with less tolerant people was when my aunt came out that she was gay and her mom didn't accept it so she moved out and she wasn't invited to a lot of family events. This showed me to accept people and not let there sex and things like that from me excluding that or discriminating, and especially in family.

I Hunt Killers Blog Post One

I have started a new book it is titled I hunt killers by Barry Lyga. So far I really like it. The main character is a teenager so the way he talks is relatable but then again it isn't cause every one is different. The reason that I chose this book was because I read the back of the book and this guys hunts killers, so this reminds me of one of my favorite shows "Dexter". This show reminds me of this book because the show is about a cop that hunts down murders and kills them.

So the book starts off introducing you ti=o the main character, Japser Dent. then it explains that he is belly down hiding in high grass in a field. But what he is doing here is checking out a crime scene. Then he explains on how his dad had tough him to cover his tracks and not to get spotted. Then he talks about the body that he found and how it was missing pieces but cops found them around the body and the cops start to wrap up the scene. That is were I left off

Blog Post 8

Conflict
I know I already did conflict but I would feel my life incomplete if I hadn't told you this. It's actually kind of funny because what happened was that the Beatle before had a drummer named Pete Best. And apparently he was to popular among the fans (girls) so the Beatles wanted him out. John later recalled that " we were all cowards" because they had gotten there manager Brian Epstien to get rid of him. He was also deported from a Germany for nailing a (something I can't say in my blogs) to a wall and lighting it on fire. That also probably played a role in him getting removed from the band.

Summary so Far
So so far in the book I have gotten to the part were the Beatles have gotten their big break. First they auditioned in a place with a bunch of other bands. One of the people there remembered that they "Blew everyone away". They then got an offer for a tour in Scotland but turned it down because the manager didn't want one of the band members. Then they eventually went on a tour in Scotland as a back up band. That is were I left off.

Blog Post 7

Character Analysis
John Lennon- John Lennon's most noticeable trait is being a leader. This is played a big role in the formation of the Beatles. Why you ask, because if he was't a leader he wouldn't have been able to get a group of talented people together. But he was also a good leader because he cared deeply about his band. He got them book at their very first gig in the town fest. They later played in pubs and met Brian their producer. But anyway he managed to functionally lead his group and made famous. He also kept them together through tough times. Like When there producer Mike Epistein died they were all very bummed because he did so much for the Beatles The Beatles did end up breaking up but that was John Lennon's wife fault because of the high tension that she was causing in the group.

Conflict.
A Major Conflict that is happening doesn't really involve the whole group. What happened was that John Lennon ended up in a really bad depression. Even though he was super rich and had fame he still got depressed. This happened around the time that the Beatles were filming the movie "Help". He are a lot and also drank a lot. But worst of all he would smoke large amounts of marijuana. He gained a lot weight. He got out of this depression eventually with the help of his wife Yoko Onu and the support of his fellow band mates.

Blog Post 6

Character Analysis
Paul McCartney Young- Paul was a very confident kid. I'm pretty sure he was when he was older but I still haven't gotten there yet. But anyway the reason I say this is because of the way that he got into the band. A kid that was on John Lennon's band from when they were younger introduced them. In the book it said that Paul wasn't bothered or intimidated by them. So when he met them it said that he was back stage with the older boys and without hesitation he picked up the guitar and asked John Lennon " Mind if I play". Paul said sure and his skill level was so great that in the book John states "I couldn't take my eye off him". Paul was so good because he was a vey smooth singer and he could hit every note and tone. Paul could also play much more notes than most of the other boys including John. This worried him because he was afraid that he would show John up and take control of the band. But Paul still joined after Paul asked him to and the band was still the same just with one more talented person in his band.

Theme
So far I couldn't really see a clear theme but if you look closer the you can spot a couple. So far I have spotted one main one. That one is; don't let tragedy hold you down. The reason that I say this is cause of the are that young Beatles met and where there career took off. This are was called Liver Pool. During the second world war this city was a strategic bombing area due the amount of port this city had, this made it a big military target. So it seemed that almost every day they were being bombed. Ringo Star says that he remembers seeing gaping areas where house should be but instead he saw pile of ruble. But this did't hold these young Beatles down course they would soon be one of the world biggest legacy. But this is also due to the vibe the city gave out. John recalls that people from liver pool tend to be funny and that there accent made a simple sentence sound like a punch line. Not to mention the great taste in music and all the wide variety of different cultures and the music they had brought music to add to the wide variety that there already is.

Blog Post 5

So far I have started a new book and It is similar to the one that I was reading because the last one one mostly about John Lennon. The one that I am reading about now is about The Beatles, The title is "Yeah Yeah Yeah". This book really caught my eye because of the cover. I know people usually say "don't judge a book by it cover" but all the other books looked really boring and weird and my other choice was only like 30-40 pages.

The book intro was good because it talked about the book how the Beatles were a legends and what was to come in the book. Then it switches over to the begging of the Beatles which is like the official first chapter. So so far in the book it starts out saying how John Lennon was born during a Nazi air raid. Then it goes on to say how he had met Paul McCartney. They had met in a town festival. When they first met Johns band was performing and they had met backstage. Then he joins the band cause of his talent. Then it goes on too explain the culture of Liver pool and the musical vibe cause of how badly the relentless German Bombing left it. That is where I have left off so far.

Blog Post 4

I have gotten a new book and so far I do like it. It is about John Lennon and his life. It also is about how John Lennon and his role in the Beatles. The reason I chose this book to be honest was because because I'm doing a project on him so too kill two birds with one stone.  But it isn't allowed. This doesn't mean I'm not going to read it, but I'll be doing another book. But I still have a lot of interest in John Lennon and the Beatles because of my grandpa. Ever since I was little and even way beyond that he was obsessed and would talk about the Beatles. He wasn't one of those crazed fans but you could tell that he really like them. He was also influenced by them in in a way because when we were smaller he would always want us to make music videos and dance  to there songs or sometimes other songs. So yea that is why I am interested in John Lennon in the Beatles.

Though I'm abandoning this book this book it isn't really by choice. I say this because I am already doing research project on it. Like i said I will read it but I won't doing my project on it.

What has happened so for in this book is in the first couple of pages it talk about John Lennon and the Beatles. Then it switches over to his early life and starts explaining about what he likes and talk about how he liked doing art as a kid. He was born in liver pool on October 9th 1940. This is only about 60 years and 4 days older than me cause his birthday was only only 4 days away from mine.(10-5-00) An interesting fact was about how he was born during a German/Nazi air raid. In the book it say that the only reason he was born was because a squadron of very skilled skilled British air force were holding them back. I only only got to the part when it says that his mother died in a car accident.

Blog Post 3

Reflection
So for me this book was AMAZING it really kept my on the edge of my seat and didn't let me put it down when I read it. But I have to admit I did get lazy some days and I didn't read, but other than that this book was really good. Especially towards the end with all the twist and turns kept you wondering and on edge. The author did a really good job on also putting the suspense toward the end of the book but it felt like it was too little . If it was a bit more stretched out towards the middle the would give the book 5 stars right now it is at about 4.5 stars.

I wouldn't recommend this book do to some of the mature content in the book so for ages like 12 or older. But other than that I would really recommend this book to most teens. Mostly guys because this book isn't really romantic with more like hook ups and other things like that. But then again it also has drama and break ups some cheating. The suspense is in the book is also book griping and with the who did it mystery and the crazy twisted ending is great for anyone(anyone mature enough to read it).

Blog Post 2

Summary

So for In the book it is Period 8 and everyone heads to Log's room that is properly introduced in the book and talks about every one there. Then Pauli and his buddy's head to Period eight in Log's room which is were every one goes to talk and is basically like there safe haven. Once every one is there Hannah, Pauli's ex storms into the room. The next thing you know theres a full class argument on how guys will make love to anything that makes itself available. The reason for this argument is because Pauli cheated on Hannah. After the argument ends Logs and Pauli go for a swim because in the book he is a champion swimmer much like me. But they also go for a swim because that is were Pauli usually tells Logs a bout life. After that they hit the Jacuzzi and that is were I left off.

Character analysis

Logs- Logs seems that he is a caring teacher and likes to spend time with his students. The reason that i think this is because in the book he has a lot of student in his room for period eight which is kind of like a free period. During this time Logs has Pauli and his friends and Hannah and her friends over. Not only that but these students can talk about anything in this room and they talk about it with Logs and he gives them advice and helps them. Another reason I think he likes to spend time with his students is because he goes out swimming a lot with Pauli and they go to the Jacuzzi too. This shows how Logs goes out of his way to ho swimming and talk with Pauli and help him and give him advice on what is happening.

Blog post 1

In my book which is Period Eight by Chris Crutcher there is only about 2 main Charictors mentioned so far and they are Paul "The Bomb" Baum" and his Ex girlfriend Hannah. So far in the book Paul tells Hannah that he cheated on her with someone else. It also explains how there is a safe haven in the school. This is period eight were all the kids go to talk. Thats about how for I got.

Reflection

But I can't really say much about the book yet because I haven't really read a lot but so far from what i have read I imagine that this book is going to be good. The reason that I think this is because int the first couple of pages of the book it said sex. This really surprised me because most books a censored and still treat us like kids. But this book doesn't so that ads a more relatable feeling to it therefore making the book already more interesting.
